Brave New World Project
Brave New World Project Refection
In this project, the hardest thing for me would have to be annotating all of the chapters. While we were reading the book, I was somewhat annoyed with the fact that we had to do 13 different things for most of the chapters, because for me personally I could have read that novel in three days. Now that I look back on how we read the book, it really did make sense to do that because it gave me a better understanding of the book.
I have grown as an individual in this project because it gave me a new perspective on how I look at society. I have realized how we are always being conditioned to want the newest thing that money can buy. I really do not want to take part in that in that part of society, but I do and I understand that is how I have been conditioned.
As I finish up my first year of high school, there are a few things that I want to remember and improve on as a sophomore. I really want to focus more on my school work and not on my friends, because I want to prove to myself that I can focus and stay focused. I have been somewhat off task all year, and I felt like I was barely scraping by with my grades and that should really change.
Out of all of the components of my project which includes a bowl with ashes, a canvass that has two half circles and writing on it, and a short story I would pick my short story to be the thing that I am most proud of. I am most proud of my short story because it was something that I was able to create and refine to a point where it was complete, and made sense. I am glad that we did this project because I was able to write a story in a complete professional manner and I was able to put in some writing techniques that I had learned over the year.

The words "Requiescant In Pace'" is Latin for 'Rest In Peace' since it plays a part in my short story, I decided to put it on the canvas. The red, yellow and orange circle represents the sun and the purple and silver circle is the moon. They are substitutes for 'God' and 'Jesus', in my short story. The bowl is filled with ashes to represent water and how it is lying to everyone.
