La Poesia de la Comida
For this project we had to choose a food and then we had to do some research on the food and then we had to write a poem about that food using the present tense. We then had to translate our recipes into Spanish from English, and then we had to make our food.
For my project I chose the food Alfajores from Argentina. I chose the Alfajores because I love the food, and I knew that it would be easy for me to make it my project, and I knew that I would have fun throughout the project. I am most proud of my food that I made because I got it from my grandmother who makes/has the best Alfajores. During the exhibiton I was proud to tell people that the recipe came from my grandmother from Argentina and that I had grown up with the Alfajores.
Los Cuentos Infantiles
For this project, we had to choose a country to focus on and do research on the culture and everything that was done there. After we researched the country we had to choose a town to focus on and we had to do research on how the culture was there. after our research we made outlines of our stories that were meant for children, and we revised many times before getting our final draft. Once our final draft was done, we had to draw our pictures in our books, and put down the words, and after we did that we read them to children who were learning Spanish as well.
This project, for me, was a very good one to do because it gave me challenges that I had to overcome and problem solve, but it also let me bring out my artistic side with the drawings in my story. Drawing the story was my favorite part because I love to draw. I learned that you have to keep going even when you don't want to because when it gets hard and you don't what else to put down, just start to brainstorm, and you'll get past the roadblock you;re having. I would change my story little bit, because I would like to have it more like a story with a beginning, middle, and an end, instead of just a tour of the town.
