Globalization Op-Ed Project
Project Reflection
1.) For this project we had to pick a subtopic of Globalization, and after we picked our topic we had to research that topic, and after that we had to write our Op-Ed and make our political cartoon to go with it.
2.) The new understanding that I have about Globalization is that, we really don’t know what we have until we think about what it would be like to have it taken away. We also don’t really think about how our necessities can affect other people. Whether if it is a product that we need that people make in sweatshops in poorer countries or the advertising for that product that may make people want to change themselves.
3.) I have grown as a cartoonist by finding a topic that I could easily portray for my cartoon. Another way that I have grown is by adding more detail and making the cartoon clear, and not have it really busy and you can’t easily tell what was going on. On my first draft, you could not tell what was going on and the message did not make sense at all either, but on my final draft the cartoon the message was clear and so was the drawing itself.
4.) The Op-Ed was really easy since I changed my topic to something that I already had a little background knowledge and I was interested in the new topic unlike the one before. I learned that it was more of a conversation type of writing than technical writing, which I haven’t really ever had the chance to do before so I struggled at first, but once I got the rhythm I was unstoppable. This type of writing let me know that I can apply this to any project, if we get the choice, and that it is very easy to accomplish.
