College Essay
Starting my college essay I had one goal in mind, get it written down. I didn’t really care about the content of what I was writing; I just needed to get it out of my brain, and onto paper. I had sentences like, “I learned that when I make a game plan, it’s okay to deter from the original strategy and make a new game plan with the surplus of back up plans I have in my back pocket.“ They were confusing and not very well explained. After going into our critique groups, and I kept getting the same feedback that there wasn’t enough focus on what I was trying to say, I decided to put my heart and soul into my essay and make it the best I could. I spent four hours straight writing, and deleting unnecessary phrases, and of course rereading my revisions. Now I have complex sentences in my essay like, “I’ve learned that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and to deter from the original idea and create a new plan that will calm us down, and allow us to refocus and continue with the original idea.” I am very proud of my final college essay and all of the hard work I have put into it, to make it a high quality college essay.
