Exhibition Reflection
Through out the year in Algebra 1 we did most of our exhibitions in school, so it was not that big of a deal because I get nervous when the community comes to see our projects. I would like to say that at our final all school exhibition, trying to present our projects was the most difficult thing I have ever done. I say that because I went through a lot of frustration trying to explain the project because the way we had to present it was preposterous. I really wish we had another way to present it like, having blank sheets that you had to fill out, like you were an actual consultant and take them through the process of taxes, student loans, and credit cards.
Linear Regression Project
Procedure:
I first got a volunteer and I asked them if I could have them type something and have them stop every thirty seconds. So I found two people and they both agreed and then they started to type. I had the timer on for five minutes, and that meant that I had ten data results. I started the timer and I stopped it when (almost) thirty seconds had gone by, I then recorded the data and I had them start again.
Predictions:
I predicted that the amount of words typed in thirty seconds would be a lot more than the results that I had gotten. I don’t know if it was the people who were typing and they felt pressured and so they had to stop and think about what to write.
Reflection & Conclusion:
I found out that I should have tested at least ten people and not just two with ten outcomes. I also found out that I should have given the volunteers something to write about that was interesting and not just ‘Write about whatever you want.’
